Ladies, gentlemen, fellow Heroes!
We all suffer from many issues with Turo... Whether it's the app's inability to do X or Y, or Emergency Support in Manila, maybe claims, or how vehicle swaps are made.
I am compiling a list of issues that hosts face and future ideas that Turo could implement. With this list I plan on holding a meeting with Turo execs in SF, express our needs, and follow up with them to make sure we are heard and get our issues solved.
I would appreciate it if you could pls reply to this thread and you let me know which items you'd like in the letter to Mr. Claus.
Thx!

I want the app to track where my cars are.
I have resorted to require a tracking app installed on everyone that rents from me.

My clients and I have personally have issues using the promo link/receiving the $25 credit. Perhaps there is a more user friendly means of using this promotion like an actual promo code. I hav r called a hand full of times to report the issue and have credit manually applied to my clients trips, even though I do not receive the credit myself. When I call the reps say they are working on resolving this issue but it has been months and dozens of referrals later. When is this going to be fixed/resolved? Mahalo

I'd be curious to know which cars are the most 'in-demand'. I'm thinking of expanding my fleet and would like to select a car that renters are mostly seeking. Also, is there a car to avoid as no one seems to want to rent? Thanks for putting together this forum!

The claims process is BEYOND slow... It has to be updated. One of our fleet vehicles was totaled on Feb 17 and we STILL haven't gotten the settlement.
Reimbursements need to be extended for parking tickets and toll violations. Where we are, it takes a minimum of a month before we're mailed something from the state/city where a violation occurred so we are less likely to get the money from the renter.
Roadside assistance is a joke. We have used our own insurance to do roadside assistance because Turo simply does not respond to calls or send anyone out to help. Especially for an accident.
The app needs to work better for custodians. Larger hosts have custodians that need access to the account at the same time. If two people are in the same account, it freezes the app.
The app needs to have a basic "cleaning" reimbursement area. Not for smoke or other damage, but simply for not being clean. Its a pain to have to call turo every time our cars aren't returned clean even though we have a monthly member ship at a car wash.
I could go on for days...

Would like more flexible pricing options.
I.e. If someone books my car for less than 4 hours they pay an hourly rate or a percentage (80%?) of my daily rate.
This is because a lot of times I have a gap in between bookings. For example car is returned at 12pm and not rented out until the next day at 9am. I have a tesla where the daily rate is 150$+ and it just doesn't seem fair to charge the full daily rate if someone only wants to rent it for a few hours. Ultimately I think having options to pay by the hour or a prorated daily rate would help me get more bookings for certain cars

I'd LOVE the option of having multiple locations to use for pick-up and drop-off. I usually do the hand off at my work location for week-day rentals, but sometimes people want to pick up on (or drop off) on a weekend, and the car and I are at my home. It would be great if, like customizing my availability times (certain hours on weekends, other hours on weekdays) I could also customize the hand-off location (my place of work on weekdays, or my home on weekends). Instead I have to ask the renter if they would mind handing off in a location other than what's shown, which is weird/unprofessional. To me this seems like an easy & obvious feature to add.

Another feature I'd like is more for the renters, but I think it would help us: Currently you can only search for cars for a certain day. For luxury cars, sometimes people might be looking for a certain type of car and be open/flexible on the timing of the rental. It would be nice if searches could be conducted without a calendar filter to find the car you want, then see when it's available.

Wish to have a better smoking policy. I was a victim of smoking and damage but because of Turo policies I was not reimbursed for damage and smoking marijuana in my car. Simply because I was 8 hours late to report it. I reside 45 min away from the parking lot where I park my cars. Due to my daughters first birthday I was unable to attend to the car on time and I trusted the Renter.. Even though the Renter agreed to smoke in Turo messaging and an ounce of marijuana was found in the car. Turo policy made it impossible for me to get reimbursed, even after providing a receipt. Turo not only disrespected my values but had the guts to not reimburse me. I have over 300 5 star ratings with Turo and is one of the first hosts on Turo since 2014. Being that I am an owner of my car, and it is my asset, if damaged or abused in any form, Turo should charge the guest to there best ability because host cannot charge them. Please do not harass the owner of the car, asking for receipts and all. As an owner, it is up to the owner to clean the car himself or not. As long as owner is able to prove smoking took place, Turo should charge the Renter indefinitely. Turo instead of asking Renter the questions, asked my car wash place questions, about what was done on the car. Due to a crazy confusion at the car wash, Turo was not able to verify that my car was detailed. After my several attempts to get Turo talk to the manager, Turo refused to talk to him to confirm what ever they were trying to confirm. As an owner, we loose our asset, we loose time, we loose money as we can’t rent it and I spent $250 to get it detailed. Turo policy made it so easy for the Renter to get away from damage and smoking load of marijuana in my car. What a nerve racking experience. I have tried writing an email so that you may look into the smoking policy. I hope you got it. Best Regards Anmole.
